The Evansverse Chronicles are historical adventure novels rooted in ancient Egypt and shaped by legacy, consequence, and found family—where what was buried never stays buried.
The Debut of the Evansverse Chronicles Death Comes on Swift Wings
Death Comes on Swift Wings or as the original inspirations was titled The Secret Tomb of Tutankhamun, didn’t start as a grand plan. It started as a love letter.
Years ago, after devouring the classic adventure novels and films that shaped a generation—especially the world of Indiana Jones—I sat down and asked a simple question:
What kind of story would I tell if I could explore those worlds myself?
At first, it was a single novel inspired by that spirit of discovery: ancient tombs, forgotten civilizations, and the thrill of standing where history almost didn’t survive. But as the story grew, something unexpected happened—the characters began to take on lives of their own.
Steve Evans wasn’t just an adventurer. He became a man shaped by loyalty, loss, and responsibility.
Saundra wasn’t a side character—she became the emotional backbone of the story.
Les, Evie, Bee, Howard—each one emerged not as archetypes, but as people with pasts, scars, humor, and agency.
Over time, the story outgrew its inspiration.
What began as an homage evolved into an original world—new mythology, new stakes, and a deeper focus on family, sacrifice, and legacy. The Evansverse was born not by abandoning its roots, but by building something stronger on top of them.
Today, the Evansverse Chronicles stands as its own historical-adventure saga—one shaped by classic exploration tales, but driven by character, consequence, and the belief that some discoveries change the world… and some change the people who find them.

My Story
There are things you do—and then there are things you wish you had done.
For me, it was writing.
In my mid twenties, after reading Rob MacGregor’s Indiana Jones novels, I sat down and wrote my own story. Over several years, I poured myself into a tale inspired by adventure, mystery, and ancient secrets. Then life did what life does—I focused on providing for my wife and six kids, and the manuscript was boxed up and set aside.
That box stayed closed for thirty-four years.
When I finally opened it again, I faced a hard truth: the story could either remain hidden forever, or I could change it completely. I chose to change it. I reimagined the characters, reshaped the world, and followed the story where it wanted to go.
What emerged was something far more original—and far more personal—than the book I’d written decades earlier. That story became the foundation of the Evansverse: It became a planned series rooted in classic adventure, but driven by legacy, consequence, and the people caught in between.
This is the story I waited a lifetime to finish, but I still wear the Fedora now and again.
Houston, TX. is home until life brings the next big adventure. ;)
